This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am an occupational therapist in Seattle Public Schools and this year I am working with students from 3 years old up to 14 years old - with a variety of disabilities, including autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, CVI and many others.
I have recently learned about many amazing iPad apps that would help many of my students improve their fine motor skills, but I don't have access to an iPad that I could use on a daily basis.
I am appealing to the DonorsChoose.org community to help me get an iPad that could be dedicated to my work as an OT with these great kids. The iPad would stay at school and would be used for the students only.
My Project
I am asking for an iPad and case to use exclusively with my students- 3- 14 year old students, to help them improve their fine motor skills. I have tried to get apps on my Kindle Fire, but not all the apps I want are available on that platform.
There are so many great iPad apps to help develop fine motor skills and I will use the iPad to supplement what I am teaching my students and to help motivate them!
I will pay for the apps myself; I just want help with the initial cost of the iPad. Please consider donating to help me achieve my goal. Thanks!
