I am a kindergarten teacher at PS 104 in Brooklyn. I have 25 talented artists just ready to be inspired through the mediums of painting and sculpturing. I think it is very important to let children explore art as a way of expressing themselves. We spend much too much time stifling the inner creativity of young minds. It is a good idea to let children have fun as they learn to deal with their own emotions. Art is always a good outlet for free expression and feelings. Children don't only learn by reading and writing. Every child has something to offer in the universal language of art. I think it will be a great experience to take my class on a trip to The Painted Pot in Brooklyn. Here they will be able to create their own ceramic pottery and have the freedom to paint it as they wish. There is no right or wrong way -but their way. I hope you can help my students figure out if the pot is half painted. Please help inspire the artist in every child. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.
