Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from high poverty, low socioeconomic, inner city apartments. Our school is 100% free and reduced-price lunch. Most of our children come from Spanish speaking homes and are enrolled in ELL classes. However, these obstacles do not deter their love for learning!
These students know the importance of a good education.
They are excited about learning and eager to soak up new concepts and knowledge each day. Their determination and hard work is inspiring and something to behold.
My Project
It's not a good time to be a student or a teacher in our state. Funding cuts have slashed our budget and supplies, paper, and ink are hard to come by. As a result, teachers are always looking for ways to save a buck or two.
As global warming increases, we are constantly looking for ways to teach children about conservation and the environment.
These protective sleeves will cut down on paper use and cost to schools. Students can complete assignments using dry erase markers and sleeve protectors multiple times a day. The sleeves can also be used to save valuable reading passages to use from class to class, as well as year to year. These sleeves will be used to help multiple classes get ready for and improve skills on state mandated tests that are just around the corner.
With your donation, the kids learn about ways to save the environment, as well as helping taxpayers cut costs in their local schools!
