I am a kindergarten teacher in Southwest Mississippi. We are a Title 1 school trying to improve in technology. We are a growing school district and I currently have 25 students in my classroom. My students LOVE to have their turn on the computer each day.

I currently have two working computers in my classroom. I have purchased several programs that the students work on each day. The problem is that some days they all may not get their turn on the computers. The students are capable of doing more if we had another computer in the room. By having a portable laptop we would not be confined to the computers on the tables.

I would like my students to have a laptop to use in the classroom. They will have the ability to practice phonics, math, writing, and so much more. The laptop will provide my class with the ability to go on line and view sites like unitedstreaming.com. The laptop has a microphone jack so students can record themselves. This will help them with phonemic awareness.

Please help my children enhance their learning by getting them a reliable and dependable resource. They will have more time each day to become technologically savvy. They have no fear of technology so let's let them get more time each day---it's your turn! Your help can help prepare them for the technological world that we live in.
