Have you ever taken a picture? Some of my high school students had never had the experience of pointing a camera and pushing the shutter release until three weeks ago!

I teach photography in poverty-filled, rural America. When classes started three weeks ago, I learned that many of my high school students have never had a camera, never taken a picture! To teach 43 students, I have 9 cameras that work at all. Only five of them take quality pictures.

I want three more working cameras and six SD memory cards to hold the photos. This is a major need since kids have to share cameras as they walk around our town and learn to take good photos. When we return to the classroom, it is always very difficult to figure out whose photos are whose and to make sure each student gets to see a finished photo that he actually captured himself.
