My Students

My students are trailblazers. They are engineers, constructors, researchers and designers, builders, programmers, drivers, and pit team members. In third-fifth grade, they are the leaders of our school's robotics team. They are the straight A students. They are the students who struggle to make friends. They are a diverse collection of students who are joined together by a common interest.

These students are setting off as leaders on an educational journey.

There is no exact roadmap for the project they are undertaking. Rather, they will use teamwork and problem solving and executive functioning skills to reach their goal.

My Project

The Iron Panthers were the recipients of a grant for one robotics kit. Together, the third-fifth grade students will use problem solving and executive functioning skills to lead the construction of their own robot. However, to fully engage in the educational journey, the team wishes to participate in a robotics competition.

Please help the students reach their goal by funding competition fields and the accessories needed to prepare for the robotics battle.

The robotics fields are 8 foot by 4 foot grids with obstacles redesigned each year. This year, students will drive robots in the grids as they push hexagonal shapes from one end to the other and place them into bins. The final challenge is to balance on a platform! As with the construction, the students must work together to move the objects. Truly, this is a student-driven project!
