Our school is a Title One school in South Carolina where one hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and free or reduced price lunch. Many of our students also receive food from our Golden Harvest Food Bank each week to take home with them over the weekend. We have students from many diverse backgrounds and cultures with a high population of Hispanic students.
Each student at our school brings a unique perspective and set of experiences with them; they enrich our school with their culture, laughter and answers.
Everyday is a new day to learn and create meaningful connections that will remain with students for a lifetime. Each day brings something new and our students love to meet and overcome new challenges.
Our students live in a world that is ever changing. More and more, we see industries and companies rely on the use of robotics and problem solving to advance. By allowing our students to have early access to the tools of the trade, we are preparing them to journey into the future ready to face whatever may come their way. Students will be given a real world problem to research and then design a solution for using the Lego Mindstorm tools. They will be exposed to engineering, robotics, and computer programming, as well as team building skills that will help them in any area of life. By giving to this project, you are enabling our students to be better equipped to handle whatever the changing future may send their way.
