My Students

I have started a new chapter this school year co-teaching in a lively and diverse third grade classroom. My students' ability levels range from far below to far above grade level expectations creating a highly diverse learning environment. These students attend a Chicago Public School where over 35 languages are spoken and 78% of the population come from low-income homes.

Despite the challenges that these children face due to their socioeconomic status, they enter our school building everyday with excitement and eagerness to learn.

They ask meaningful questions and show interest in their own educations. They work hard everyday and make my job as their teacher so incredibly enjoyable.

My Project

This set of iPads will make a difference in my students' learning as it will allow a virtual approach to every concept taught. Technology in the classroom provides a way to differentiate instruction as many applications can be leveled to meet the needs of each individual child.

Technology is the lens through which we experience much of our world, and my students do not currently have access to iPads in our classroom.

Children become excited when provided with the opportunity to utilize technology on a day to day basis as many of the available applications are engaging and make learning more fun.
