My students need 3 iPods, with headphones and splitters.
This project expired on March 14, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach Kindergarten and many of the students do not have computers at home. By having iPods in the classroom, they can have exposure to this technology which has become so important to our world. Educational apps are available as well as books read to them.
My students and our school are mostly low and some middle income students.
Many do not have computers at home and they love to use them. At free time, there is always a race for computers. And with only 4 computers, they only get to go to them twice a week. With these iPods, they could go every day to either an iPod or a computer.
iPods could help enrich learning even further. And with splitters, 2 students could play together and with headphones, the other students would not be disturbed. This would also give me more opportunity to work with small groups without being disturbed.
Apps available include alphabet recognition, phonics skills, reading skills, handwriting skills, math skills, social skills and so much more.
Each child could have the opportunity to work on specific skills needed for their instruction.
The apps are fun and kid-friendly. This technology is yesterdays pencil and paper, making students more successful.
