Where would the world be without technology? My students hardly have any experience with technology and with your help we can bring current technology to our small town.
I have a small Kindergarten class in a tiny Texas town.
Students from this town do not have very much to call their own in their personal lives. More than 70% of the students in my school are on free/reduced price lunch. These students don't have access to technology such as computers or Internet in their homes. The only place they come in contact with technology is in our school. With our recent and ongoing budget cuts, our technology budget has taken a hit. We all know that the future of education is in technology, so why not help these students gain more experience?
My Project
My students need 2 iPods to experience current technology in the classroom. With these Apple iPods, my students will be able to learn more about how technology can help them. We can install apps for reading, writing, math, science, and any and every other subject known to man. They will be learning in a way that is different from how they have ever learned before. We will help these 21st century students really learn with 21st century tools.
These kids need a chance to learn with tools that keep them engaged.
Having a piece of technology that belongs to their class will teach them responsibility. They will never have the chance to experience technology like this outside of the classroom. Let's give these kids a fighting chance to catch up with the rest of the world. Thank you!
