My students need 3 iPods for a listening center to enhance literacy in my classroom. The students will read their writing and listen to themselves to enhance fluency.
Let's launch literacy!!!! My students will use this listening center for both Reading and Writing Workshop. Their writing will come to life as they read, record, listen to themselves, and photograph their illustrations. Their reading, comprehension, fluency, intonation, and expression will benefit from these 3 iPod Touch devices.
I am a second grade teacher to 23 students.
I teach at a school with 745 students in a coastal community. We have a diverse population of students: English language learners, GATE students, students with special needs (academic and behavior). The students in my classroom are technology saavy. They are used to using computers, iPads, and cell phones at home both for recreational and educational activities. By allowing them to use this listening center in Reading and Writing Workshop I will not only be assisting them with their reading and writing fluency and strengthening their literary skills, but I will also be teaching them technology. Teaching technology is important as our computer instructors were just cut.
My Project
The students' lives will be changed for the better as I will be using this listening center to strengthen their literary skills. They will also be using technology, which is an academic standard. Lastly, I will be able to keep the parent and teacher communication lines open by simply email them their child's work.
By donating to this project you will enhance the literary skills of my students.
They will record themselves reading their own writing. They will be using technology. I will be email their oral reading and stories home to their families. Jump on board!
