My Students

My classroom consists of 25 amazing and eager 5th grade students. These 5th graders come into the classroom each day, ready to learn and needing to feel important.

Twenty percent of the students at our school are receiving services through special education, and eleven percent receive services as English Language Learners.

We are a Title I school with 75% of the students receiving free or reduced-priced lunch.

My class has students of many different learning abilities, languages and nationalities. All students are ready to work together to prepare for their future.

My Project

My class would love to get IPod Touches to make our Center time fun and engaging.

In this project, we are asking for one IPod touch.

We, as a class, would eventually like to get five IPod Touches to make a complete center so that all students may be working with IPods.

With IPod touches I would like students to work on basic Mathematical facts and problems. For Reading Centers, I would like for my students to use these to get onto Lyrics 2 Learn, Lexia, and listen to books while following along. I enjoy bringing technology into my classroom as much as possible to get students into the 21st century. The addition of IPod touches would be another resource I could use to do this.
