iPod Replacement For Music Class (Our Old One Died)
My students need a new iPod for music class.
My goal is to introduce my students to the joy of music and to give them the tools to help them enjoy music both through experiencing performances from others and themselves.
My students are a varied group of around 700 from grades K-5.
Every day they find new ways to make me smile and learn from them as I hope they are learning from me. We are in a military town and it makes me proud to help with the kids of men and women who keep our country safe.
The iPod will allow us to put all of our music in one location for listening, singing with accompaniment, playing instruments with accompaniment and exploring the world of music through student led activities. It will also help our school celebrate success by allowing a vast musical collection to be portable to the location of the celebration.
I managed to keep our original iPod working for a few years by reformatting it, but it was not long for this world.
There have been many times since the original iPod died that I think of a great song to use with a class but couldn't because there wasn't enough room to put it on the small personal one that I've been using as a substitute. Those kind of impromptu ideas sometimes make a lesson, but can't happen if I can't find the music fast enough. With the new iPod, I can find any song I need.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
