Kindergarten is such a big year for students! In my kindergarten class, I make sure to have a welcoming classroom environment so that my students love coming to school! For a lot of them, this is their first time experiencing school. Each of my students are unique in their own way. Even though they are all different in some way, we are still one big family that loves to be around one another.
Our students are our future, so it is important for them to gain the experiences and knowledge they need to reach their full potential to do great in the future.
To do this, we need to integrate different resources and materials in the classroom. This not only gives our students the experience and knowledge they need to succeed, but it also engages them to build their love for school and learning!
My Project
Currently, I share my iPads with other teachers to aid in our journey of distance learning! Our three kindergarten classes teach students in person and online; we use the iPad as a projector and whiteboard for our students at home.
Even at their young age, my Kindergartners are VERY tech-savy!
During a "normal" school year, we use our iPad as a center for my students to complete Boom Cards, listen to books, with Osmo Kits, or to complete iReady minutes on something other than their Chromebook. Having another iPad in the classroom will allow for more students to use an iPad at the same time. This is also a great way for my students with special needs to complete work as well; they can easily use this tech tool instead of a class Chromebook.
Whether we are teaching fully online, hybrid, or in person, this iPad will be put to use to its fullest extent possible by any member of our classroom 'ohana!
