When you give an adult a new piece of technology they are often intimidated. When you show a young student the same thing they are excited to start exploring and learning. They can't wait to slide, push, drag, and click. Technology can open doors that might otherwise stay closed for Kindergartners.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and a variety of socioeconomic opportunities.
They love technology, but many don't have access outside of our school. The opportunities that an iPad can provide for young learners are endless, including handwriting practice, math concepts, interactive stories, and beginning technology. My students need an opportunity to use an iPad to access the many educational apps available.
My Project
Do you remember the first time you played with an iPad? Imagine my students with the same excitement. Your donationn of an iPad2 and protective case could help my students practice math facts, read ebooks, learn English, and improve their handwriting (yes, there is a handwriting app), among an endless list of other learning opportunities.
This newer technology will help my students forget they are learning and will help reach all levels of learners. These are our digital natives, kids born into a technological society. With an iPad they will learn to create, video tape, edit, photograph, and connect with kids around the world through Facetime. The possibilities are endless!

My students are growing up in a world that is changing as quickly as they are. An iPad will help them discover this new world in an exciting way that allows them all to learn and play at their own level. It's an amazing world we live in. Let's help them be amazing too!
