This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title 1 school in Alexandria where a majority of students are receiving free and reduced lunch. Many of these sweet babies have to face challenges in and out of the classroom.
Learning to 21st century skills should not be on any student's list of challenges.
These kids are my heart and I want the very best for them. To be successful 21st century citizens, my students need to begin to utilize technology, on top of learning reading and math. A set of iPads will help students engage in academic activities while also learning to navigate common technology.
My Project
My students will have the opportunity to use these iPads daily as they complete their math and reading centers.
Students deserve to be deeply engaged in their learning.
These iPads will support that. My students have not had enough opportunities to use up-to-date technology. The computers that they are currently expected to use are difficult to navigate and often shut down throughout the day. By donating, you will give my students an opportunity to consistently engage with high-quality technology.
Through use of this technology, my students will have the chance to develop problem solving skills and responsibility. They will learn to be more than mathematicians and readers. They will learn to be citizens of the world.
