My students need six Apple iPads to enrich their reading experience online and to be able to record, edit, and present their "Readers Theater" projects.
My second grade students are curious and eager learners. To help my students become successful readers they need to be able to access text in print and digitally. With the use of technology my students can interact with various texts in paper form and through technology. Technology will also help to bring their reading experience alive through listening to stories, complete assignments, well as use digital applications to present their own recreation of a story to their peers for 21st century learning opportunities.
My students have become accustomed to tablets, computers, and the internet at home, and I would like to leverage that technology to enhance their learning.
I would love to bring education alive for my students through the use of technology and further their education as 21st century learners.
I am requesting six Apple iPads for my students' use. With these devices, my students will research, create, and explore on a daily basis. My students are eager to learn in new ways and technology will help them to learn more than ever before! We are excited to explore education in a new way!
My Project
The technology my students and I are requesting will help my students keep up with the tide and be able access reading materials in print and online. The devices will not only support student learning in reading, but also support my students to access technology to further their education in various subject areas.
With the use of iPads my students will be able to access addition online text and resources to further their learning.
They will be able to access higher level reading online as well as text that will support struggling readers. Students will also be able to listen to stories online and here the expression in the storytellers voice. This will help them to be able to mirror the expression in their own readers theater projects.
These devices will also be used in other subject areas such as STEM, social studies, digital art such as coding and programing as well as creating visual presentations in all content areas. With the use of iPads my students will be able to do research to extend their learning. They will be able to conduct research for STEM projects. Students will also be able to participate in coding activities and learn the way of the future.
