Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a school that was built in the 1940's. The school was originally built as a small neighborhood school that would have around 400 students. The school now has over 900 students in attendance. The school is located in a high poverty area.
The majority of our students have a home language other than English and 99% qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
For many, internet access is not an option at home. They get most of their technology skills from school.
My Project
My students need an iPad, ear buds, seating options, and STEM kits to be able to learn and explore. These materials will allow my students to have learning opportunities that they do not get at home. Many do not have access to internet at home, so it is so important that they have every advantage at school. The iPad will enable groups to explore and collaborate to create group projects.

The iPad, ear buds, flexible seating options and STEM kits will allow each student an opportunity to learn and grow. The comfy floor seats and bean bag pillow chair will give students an alternative seating option when working. Having options to engage every student is a must!
