We have a classroom of unique learners that are working on academic, social, and life skills. School days are full of fun times and many learning opportunities, and we all really enjoy our time together.
We have a true school family, where we support one another.
All of our students are working to make growth in their own learning journey, and some of our friends need extra assistance from adults to help them to be successful in the school setting. We have lots of joy and laughter as we navigate the school year together.
My Project
In our classroom we have lots of hands-on learning opportunities for students. We have students that use Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) on boards to assist them with communication. These iPads will be used to help transition some children to using assistive technology so they can have a 'voice' to express themselves to anyone, not just to those who are familiar with their communication style.
The iPads are such a wonderful tool to help kids practice skills, and as a tool to provide games for peers to practice social skills.
They are a highly motivating tool to help children when the work that they have to do is difficult but meaningful.
