I teach students who participate in a free breakfast and lunch program. Many of my students come from single-parent homes and have a hard time just bringing in school supplies. Many of these students have to help take care of their siblings both before and after school while their parent is working or attending school.
My students are from a variety of backgrounds and have various learning styles.
My classroom is made up of both regular and special education students. They often come into school eager to learn and love to use technology.
The majority of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in school. I want my students to be informed citizens and be able to have the use of technology in the classroom on a daily basis. I want my students to have technology experiences that help foster twenty-first-century critical thinkers.
My Project
Small group instruction is the new norm. Teachers and students are engaging in small group activities throughout the school day. Two more iPads in our classroom will enhance this instruction by giving students the opportunity to utilize technology during this time. There are so many apps and websites that are available to make learning not only educational but fun. My students also use Google Classroom for many assignments each week. If they were able to pull up their accounts on their iPads during small group time, we could really work on editing and making their overall classwork better. Two more iPads would really help give my students technology at their fingertips.
