Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My young students are curious, energetic learners who are eager to come to school each day and engage in learning activities to explore as much as they can about the world around them. No one is as eager to learn as a kindergartner! I love how their faces light up when they see themselves in a video they've created or find success in a challenging activity.
My Project
IPads provide endless opportunities for students to participate in hands on customizable learning experiences. From recording themselves explaining their learning to practicing letter and number formations, the options for interactive learning are endless.
Ipads are easy for young learners to navigate and provide many opportunities to engage in meaningful learning.
The students can: Listen to prerecorded teacher directions about an activity while working at a learning station. Use learning apps, such as Seesaw, to record themselves explaining their ideas about a concept. Take pictures of their work to put in a portfolio. Listen to educational videos or practice fluently reading along with a story. Practice letter and number formation by using a stylus on various apps. English Language Learners can increase their English acquisition by using Imagine Learning, an online program designed to help students become fluent in English. We can even learn how to use the drawing tools to create self-portraits. The options are endless!
