This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Many of my students arrive at school up to an half hour before the day officially begins. They can read eBooks on the iPad or use apps to to practice skills such as reading, math, and handwriting. They enjoy using the iPads.
I have an awesome group of five and six year old, well-mannered students in my class.
My students love technology tools and resources. They are eager to learn. Our school is located in the southeast corridor of East Atlanta. My school serves students from prekindergarten to fifth grade. We are a Title 1 school.
My Project
My students will use the iPads to reinforce reading and math skills. In reading, they will listen to stories and practice skills such as letter/sound recognition, phonemic awareness sight words, vocabulary, fluency and reading comprehension. They will play math games where they can practice math facts, counting, number recognition, shapes and numbers. The iPad will afford students endless opportunities to create hands-on, learning experiences.
Donations to this project will be beneficial to my students.
Interactive technology will make learning more engaging and memorable. Using iPads is an engaging way to promote literacy and mathematics through technology.
