As members of a 5th/6th multi-grade classroom my students are hardworking and very focused.
Being members of a multi-grade classroom they face the challenge of sharing their instructional time with another grade level. They are often taught a skill and then required to practice it independently or with a partner.
My Project
With the use of iPads the skills the students have been taught can be practiced, applied, and reinforced through the help of technology. They are able to delve into projects and create a hands-on, deeper understanding. iPads will allow my students to practice their reading and comprehension skills with a variety of different programs and applications. In addition, they will use the iPads and its programs to help them become stronger problem solvers and mathematicians.
Like many schools, we suffer from a lack of quality, updated technology.
The addition of these materials to our 5th/6th multi-grade classroom will greatly help to bridge the technology divide.
