My students need IPads to help them keep up with the advancing technology and explore new ways to become fluent readers and writers.

My Students

I teach at a Title 1 charter school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. More than 95% of the students at my school come from families that speak 2 or more languages at home. Many of my students live in rough areas, where crime rates are high. A classroom is a place they feel secure.

My students are thinkers and love a great challenge.

They encourage one another and find joy in every experience. Laughter ricochet's the walls of our classroom as we sing and share stories. I tell them every day that they are strong and smart. I want them to know that I believe in them.

My Project

I am requesting IPads for my students. Every day there are technological advances. Ipads will give my students an opportunity to experience and learn through technology. I want them to be given an equal chance to experiment with technology through math and literacy apps and online books. Everyone learns differently, and I want to be able to provide another outlet for the student, via IPads, for their learning and success.

Allowing the students to explore different learning games and online books can increase their vocabulary and reading/writing readiness.

They can use the IPads to record themselves reading aloud and playback the audio clip. There are so many ways this technology can foster the growth in the classroom.
