My Students
We are teaching seventy-five second graders in rural West Virginia. Our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school has qualified for a grant to provide all students in our county free breakfast and lunch due to the high percentage of poverty.
Our students lack the necessary technology tools at home to help make them succeed as 21st century learners.
Many live in homes disconnected from the internet due to lack of funds. Our students need as many chances as possible to connect with the bigger world around them.
My Project
We will utilize these iPads to help prepare our students for our state assessments, Star Reading & Math, and the Accelerated Reader program. They will also be able to be access our county and school website to strengthen skills in the areas of reading, math, and language arts.
These iPads will greatly increase the amount of time each student is able to be enriched or retaught through a new county wide program that is skill specific to each student.
We are excited for the opportunity to provide more technology experiences for our students. Any support will be greatly appreciated by all teachers and students involved.
