This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school with about 18 sweet Kindergarten students. Kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning their letters and sounds while others are learning how to read and write. Some of their classmates are learning to recognize numbers, shapes, basic addition and subtraction. I have such a wide range of abilities and interests in my classroom that every day is an adventure. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and to sing and dance!
My Project
I only have 1 student iPad for my classroom and another iPad will allow more than one student to participate in the Osmo Center. The Osmo is a hands on learning tool that pairs with an iPad to allow the students to engage in hands on learning. Students in Kindergarten are majority hands on learners and another iPad and Osmo will allow my students to further reach their academic goals in my classroom. I hope to eventually turn the Osmo’s into a fun and exciting center for them to be engaged in on a daily basis. Another iPad will also allow my students to use many educational apps for their learning!
