Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low income/high poverty district. My students face many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Many of my students have no access to computers or iPads in their house. The classroom is the only place they can access technology. I am looking to provide my students with more technology to help support them learning their STEM/STEAM skills in teaching them Project Lead the Way. We need iPads in order to access the Project Lead the Way curriculum.
My students get excited to use technology and will benefit from having more access to it in the classroom.
They also are very excited to learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
My Project
My school is a Title I School and most of my students are at poverty or below. Many of them do not have access to computers and tablets in their home. Many of them do not have anyone helping them at home. Having them have more technology in their classroom can give them a similar education to neighboring districts and allow them to compete in 21st education that more affluent schools are getting.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
I am trained and excited to teach Project Lead the Way to my first graders. They are eager learners and are so excited to learn. These iPads will give them the tools necessary to learn STEM skills.
