Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special because they come to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn. They have difficult lives, but they have the opportunity with highly qualified teachers and instruction to have the same learning opportunities as students who are not from low income schools. They need access to basic materials to ensure they can stay on track and feel our school and society cares that they succeed. They deserve the basic necessities to be able to thrive.
My Project
My students need iPads for exposure to STEM activities such as coding, virtual reality trips, and programming in small group rotations. My students are 8-9 year olds and are at that age where exposure to modern day technologies and academics that are beneficial for both futures in a world that is desperate for individuals with these skills. Without my students having this technology the opportunities for them to succeed are based upon whatever resources my schools have or I can get with what little my salary can provide for 25 students especially technology. Your support will enable me to rotate my students through the various STEM activities I have found through my educational career that these iPads can make happen.
