Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever been excited about a new form of technology? Without the use of new technology my students will be missing out. Let's put the T in STEM with Apple iPads!
My students are in grades 1st- 6th at a small elementary school and they are always excited to learn science.
My school serves a population where more than 40% of our students participate in the free or reduced lunch program. Our families are wonderful and participate with their time, but we are continually trying to provide the extras that help to make school exciting. As the science specialist, it is important to have the proper materials to provide a hands-on, investigative, project based environment.
My Project
My 6th graders will be able to research more about biomes, earthquakes, and volcanoes. My 3rd graders will be able to play BrainPop quizzes by themselves about adaptations, and fossils! I will be able to improve the attention of my Special Education students with appropriate learning applications. An audio, visual, and kinesthetic connection will be practiced. iPads will build skills for the future and reduce struggling and unmotivated students.
I want to continue to provide tools in my classroom that sparks my students' interests, increases comprehension and provides motivation to want to learn more about science.
My students are the next innovators, biologists, physicists, chemists and geologists of the world and with a successful science education, this is possible.
