My students are full of wonder and excitement. They are ready to learn new things everyday and are great inquirers. I teach second graders at a magnet school within in a large, urban school district.
We focus on hands-on inquiry based learning, and we are an International Baccalaureate School.
Students are excited about coming to school and are actively engaged every day. Students have the courage to share their strengths and don’t hesitate to ask for help. Students are reflective, inquisitive learners who take increasing ownership for their learning. They love to learn about the world in our inquiry-based environment!
My Project
My students attend an International Baccalaureate school where we do 6 Transdisiplinary units a year. Students do a lot of personal inquiry for these units and project based work. Having more iPads in the room will allow for more resources to research with.
Students have an online portfolio where they post videos of their projects to share with their family and to archive their work throughout their years in the IB program.
Having iPads allows them to make these videos and upload them to their portfolio. Right now we’d have a few iPads in our room, but some are very old do not work consistently. Having these iPads would allow more students to do this important work at the same time with more reliable technology.
