This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic, vibrant, and hard working kids. A lot of them come from very rough backgrounds and school is their safe haven from everything that goes on outside of here. They have such high hopes for their futures and I want to help propel them toward these dreams they have for themselves. This project can help expand their world view and skills like never before. I believe that they deserve every opportunity to experience education in ways that will impact their development into college and career ready young adults.

My Project

Will help my students expand their grasp on the English Language and their command of reading fluency and proficiency.

Throughout the course of their educational careers they face a drastic shortage of technology within the classroom.

In an attempt to bridge the gap, I am trying to raise money to bring in two iPads to help with our reading groups, comprehension and introduce them to tools that will be valuable to them throughout the rest of their scholastic careers and well into their adult lives.

With the ability to use the new app technology as well as have students access resources online using these, they can improve their reading and writing scores and be better equipped for their high school years.
