There are currently 10 students in my inclusive pre-kindergarten classroom. My students come from many different backgrounds and the majority of my students are living below the poverty line. Each student in my class has a completely different personality and I look forward to their presence every single day. Their eagerness to learn is unbelievable, but sometimes my students need a little support in order to show their true capabilities. I am working to increase the amount of technology in my classroom to give my students access to a variety of learning opportunities.
My Project
Every day, schools are becoming more and more technology based. All State Assessments, given in grades 3-12, are currently given online. As a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, it is my job to teach my students what they need to know in order to be successful as they continue through grade levels. If students are expected to score proficient or advanced on these assessments, I feel it would be best to get students used to using technology from the very beginning. These iPads will be used to teach students through games, songs and enrichment activities in language arts, math, science and social studies. With your help, my students will be able to learn the current curriculum and excel in the future.
