iPads for Our Piano Program

My Students

My students are very special to me. Over half of them come from low income families and don't have opportunities to enroll in private lessons or other music learning programs that costs money.

They love to sing and enjoy having music classes, in large part because they had gone without a dedicated music teacher for 24 years until I came on board in 2018.

People have been generous as we build our music program.

These students are very talented and thrive in their Christmas programs and cultural presentations year after year.

My Project

There are three main reasons why these iPads will help our music students. First, these iPads will allow students to engage in self-directed learning. This will allow them to learn at their own pace and free me up to provide customized teaching to those that might need me for individualized attention. Second, iPads will help students who are visual learners because many piano teaching apps, such as "Piano Maestro", use engaging graphics and other visual displays to make learning easier, exciting and fun. Third, iPads will give us more extensive and convenient access to learning materials such as sheet music in different levels, theory materials, technique exercises, sight reading exercises and so forth.
