Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is located in South Fulton County, Georgia. Brookview Elementary School is a Title 1 school that actively provides outreach to students and families in the surrounding community.

My school has a large number of students that are considered at-risk and I want to provide an opportunity for them to be exposed to 21st Century learning tools in the classroom.

As a fourth-year teacher, I hope to provide my students with an inspiring and engaging learning experience at school. When you donate to this project, you are providing students much-needed support for their technology-driven curriculum.

My Project

Whether our little scholars are working with 1-on-1 instruction in math or reading, technology plays a huge role in their education. We use iReady Math and iReady Reading and some other educational programs that the kids just LOVE.

The need for technology is huge and when a classroom has enough devices to accommodate its students, it really shows!

When we don't, it really hurts! My students need technology in order to accomplish many tasks. Under the current circumstances, the iPads will be very useful during the school year, but will also help to provide devices for summer school. Quite a few students did not have access to technology AND did not have transportation to pick-up Teleschool packets. These students will be making up all kinds of online assignments during summer school, so technology is a must. The device in this program will be signed out to a family with a student that attends the Summer Program for the distance-learning portion of the school program.

Our little scholars get SO EXCITED when they get to go use the computers because it is targeted instruction, at their level, and with fun little cartoon breaks and educational games built into the instruction! Let's get them what they need to take their learning to the next level!
