Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Nothing is more exciting to a child that technology- and thank goodness because that is exactly where my students' future is headed. I want to give my students (this year and in years to come) exposure to the newest and most exciting form of technology available to youngsters... the iPad.
I teach at a low income urban school.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Many of them are trying to learn English as well as to read, write, and do math. They delight in learning new things and absolutely LOVE our classroom computer and the educational games I have purchased for it, but the iPad would motivate them and boost their learning like never before.
My Project
They would adore the ease and portability of the iPad as well as the thousands of educational applications for it. I have seen these apps work wonders for little ones! There are apps to help them read, write, add, and subtract. Students can watch educational videos, interact with our online math and reading school websites, listen and watch interactive books, and so much more. The possibilities with this tool are truly endless!
My students don't come from homes where they have a lot.
Most of them don't have computers at home, but with the iPad they can hold the world at their fingertips. They can independently work on them while I am working with other students. They will forever be changed as learners with these amazing tools. Please help me bring endless learning opportunities into these little hands with iPads for my classroom.
