My Students

I see 10 different groups a day; I am a special education teacher. My students need every opportunity to have technology in their hands to help them read, by recording and reading stories.

My students consist of eleven 5th graders and six 2nd graders, all of which are struggling in the areas of reading, writing, or math.

They are just using phonics, and sight words now, but with a new iPad, I can make sure that my students can practice their fluency and read stories.

My Project

My students need an iPad to share their fluency practice with the parents and other friends. They will record themselves reading; they will use apps for sight words, and math would be fantastic as well. This will give them independent practice. They will be able to make videos of them reading as well as speaking the parts to narrate the story. My students will focus on reading, but I will be using it for writing and math as well.

This will help my students be able to navigate the technology and help them with their fluency.

They will have equal access through technology and maybe giving the students the ability to hear themselves read and create their own stories.
