Help me give my students iPads to provide new verbal, hands on opportunities, and provide documentation of student progress to share with their families.
Hello, we are Kindergarteners from a Title I school. We have completed a new and exciting Summer Bridge Program where we learned how to be in school. It was a challenging month to learn rules, rituals, routines, and making friends. Since then we have worked and came to school almost every day to become stronger learners and to be ready for our academic learning. We loved going on in-school field trips as well as out of school trips. Our administration was so great to offer us Art, Music, and Physical education Fun Fridays. We had a blast!
We are 21st-century learners who are: curious, diverse, diligent, helpful and try our best to do what is right.
Many of our students can benefit from having multiple opportunities and being able to discover the world around them. Our hopes are to provide them the love, support, and skills they will need.
This year our teachers are in their first year together teaching inclusion. We can benefit greatly from your support to our new classroom. They are working diligently and are eager to come to school to learn and experience new things.
My Project
Having iPads in the classroom will allow for student engagement in having various types of technology in the classroom. This will be used throughout various subjects and projects. We hope to support our various EL learners, inclusion students, and those who want to have more opportunities with technology.
Students should be allowed to find various ways to express themselves using technology.
We hope to use these iPads as a way for student's to document their learning, by taking photos of their work, recording themselves, and listening to their own words. I think that this will allow for creativity as well as another form of documentation to share with their families as we live in an ever-growing technological world. Also, can serve as a way for new students and/or quiet students to be able to express themselves.
Access to these iPads will allow students to gain opportunities in centers to support their learning in ELA and math. We would like to use these devices to give them access to apps that they may not have at home. In Kindergarten the foundational skills are important to set up for success in letter formation, letter and sound identification, number sense, etc. These skills we hope to support by having access through Apple products.
We hope to see and document student progress through these devices and open up new opportunities for the children to explore and create. iPads are a tool in which many students can benefit from and are easily able to use with hands-on opportunities. Please support our students in engaging through current programs and up to date experiences.
