Many of the other first grade classrooms at our school have iPads for educational purposes. I have witnessed first hand the difference that technology can make in the classroom. I know my students would benefit from iPads in our classroom!
I have seventeen enthusiastic students in my class this year.
They love to learn! I have students who are just learning to read as well as students who read above their grade level. Their math skills are quite varied as well. My goal for each child is to love to learn as much as I love to teach! I teach in a suburban area school. The students come from a variety of social economic backgrounds. Forty percent of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Our school has excellent parent involvement. Parents volunteer in our classroom regularly.
My Project
The addition of an iPad mini with a Griffin Survivor case to my classroom will allow my students to learn at their own pace. The students will be able to use XtraMath and Raz-Kids on a daily basis to advance their reading and math skills. I intend to use the iPad mini during small group time so students can work on their math and reading skills individually while I work with other students in small group. All students would benefit from this individualized practice.
I know that the iPad mini will increase my ability to differentiate learning and increase each student's academic level no matter where they are currently working.
The addition of iPads in my classroom will ensure that each child can learn at their own pace.
They will use the iPad mini daily to enhance skills that I teach them. The iPad mini will allow each child to reinforce math and reading skills they have been taught during small group time.
