Mrs. Wilson from Roanoke VA is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need iPads to explore and research all subject areas. Our current technology is outdated, broken, or simply does not give access to the programs that my students need to be successful.

Hello! I am a second grade teacher who teaches at a Title I school, and my classroom is in need of iPads to cultivate technological literacy. Being that my school's a Title I, the majority of the students that I serve live in poverty. However, regardless of my students' backgrounds and home situations, they do not let anything hold them back. They are energetic, creative, and intuitive!
It is my goal with this project to provide my students with a technological approach to not only STEM subjects but all subjects that we cover daily.
My students are HUNGRY for learning! They are constantly wondering, investigating, and questioning. These are amazing habits that I am building in my little learners. However, most of the research and exploration that they could do to build their background knowledge and make new knowledge is not available to us.
Our current technology is outdated, broken, or does not have access to applications that we would use to investigate all subject areas.
I want to give my students the opportunities that they DESERVE to investigate the world around them.
This project would provide enough IPADs for a small group or 1 for a group of 4-5 students. It would allow students to take part in coding applications, literacy applications, writing research, math applications, and a digital portfolio that they would be responsible for.
I know that my students can do anything and with these IPADs they will have access to the information and resources that will push them in that direction.
