Help me give my students two iPads to support their independence in the special education classroom.

I have 13 wonderful students in grades 1-3 in my special education classroom. Some of my students are with me all day, while others only see me for math and literacy support. I teach in a low-income district and several of my students face significant challenges, including limited access to technology that would allow them to be more successful in the classroom. My students are curious, imaginative, and see things in a unique way; they are problem solvers!
My students are working toward leading successful, independent lives both in and out of the classroom.
Students in my classroom have a range of abilities, and several are on the autism spectrum. These students often have limited communication and need more adult support in all areas of school, including the classroom, bathrooms, and lunch room. My students with autism need as many opportunities as possible to practice basic living and academic skills independently. Technology gives all of my students the opportunity to communicate with others and practice math and literacy skills independently.
I am seeking funding for two iPads for my classroom. As a special educator, I see students with a wide range of abilities, which means every student is typically working on a different task.
iPads give my students the opportunity to practice math and literacy skills for their specific needs.
Students would be learning a skill with the teacher and then using technology to practice that skill independently throughout the year. iPads are engaging, and with an endless supply of quality educational apps, students won’t become easily frustrated or bored with repeated practice.
Many of my students also struggle with speech and communication delays, which could be helped with the use of a communication app on the iPads. Giving my students the opportunity to communicate with adults and peers will increase their engagement and help them access their curriculum. Using an iPad for communication will allow students to form friendships and share ideas about what we are learning in the classroom, creating well-rounded, thoughtful young minds.
