My Students

We live in a rural community that is quickly growing to become a suburb of the city. My students are excited to learn and have big eyes and smiles when new and different things are introduced. We have students with a wide range of abilities and economic groups. Most come from families that are technology users, but I always have a few without any internet access or tools. My students always get excited when it is their turn to use technology. One student told me doing the same thing on paper is so boring compared to doing it on an iPad.

My Project

My students work in groups and partners during my ELA class. Because our classroom only has 3 iPads and 2 tower computers for student use, we often have to put 4-5 students on an iPad or computer at a time. Two more iPads would ensure that we would never have more than 3 people sharing a device.

These iPads and cases will provide a variety of creative activities the students can work on in centers.

They will learn group cooperation as well as improve their reading fluency, comprehension, writing, vocabulary and spelling skills. My students are looking forward to having more access to the devices.
