Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in the third to eighth grade. They have dyslexia and they all have diverse needs. My class consists of general education students as well as children who receive special education services. They are very hard workers who love to use technology to improve their reading skills. They enjoy using different tools for learning, but technology is their favorite. I would love to have a set of iPads loaded with apps the students can learn with while having fun! I know it will ease some of the stress and anxiety they experience throughout the day because of their learning differences.
My Project
Students with dyslexia are very talented when it comes to digital resources. I would use these iPads to download apps to help them with their reading, spelling, and writing skills. I would also like to download audiobooks for the students to enjoy. This will improve their self-confidence and ease their stress levels as they are improving their reading. There are many free and low-cost apps available to help students with dyslexia. My students will begin to feel much more confident using this multisensory way of learning all while having fun! Please consider my request. Your help is greatly appreciated.
