Mr. Terwilleger from Cincinnati OH is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 2 ipads to explore, create and learn new things.

We need more technology. Most of my students come from homes with no computers. They are always excited to use a computer or any high-tech device.
My students are inner city children that attend a charter school.
They are loving and very curious about the world around them. My class is usually twenty students that is an equal mix of boys and girls. Most come from poverty, but are smart and so excited about attending school.
My students would use these iPads for so many different projects. I would be able to incorporate many new ideas into my center activities. One such activity would be to use QR (Quick Response) codes. The student would be able to scan the code to see a letter, word, number or picture. This could be used as a scavenger hunt where I would hide QR codes around the room, when a code is found it is scanned and the student would record the letter, word or number on a sheet. It could also be used as a review for letters, words or numbers. The QR codes can also be linked to a sound file on the web. Student can scan the code and hear a sound, number or word read to them. The possibilities are really endless. I have another idea where I would use QR codes as a reward system. I would hide some special QR codes around the room on Friday, if a student finds one of the QR codes, they can scan it at the end of the day to display a picture of their reward and claim it.
My students need to have more opportunities to use state of the art equipment.
They love to create and explore on the computers in the computer lab. We do not have computers in our classroom and I feel that having these iPads to share would provide some valuable experience for my students. Please help them become the best students they can be.
