My students need iPads to use within the classroom to be even more successful. Technology is becoming a part of our everyday life and having these devices will help them become more well-rounded students.

My Students

I am a 4th grade learning support teacher. All of my students are mainstreamed into the regular education classroom where I co-teach with the general education teacher. This setting has been very helpful for the students to close their individual learning gap.

The students are eager to learn and try their best on a daily basis.

Our school recently started a new reading series which has an online component. My students are very motivated by this and adding more technology into the classroom would benefit them on a daily basis.

My Project

My students are all reading below their specific grade-level. The use of iPads makes it easier for them to integrate into the classroom. Our new on-line platform for our reading program has the ability to read stories to the students on the iPad. This is huge because being able to hear fluent reading will increase their confidence when participating in classroom discussions.

Historically, my students do not like reading.

I am hoping the iPads are able to increase their motivation to read. In return, this will make them better readers. If they are able to stay motivated, they will learn to enjoy reading.
