As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many obstacles they face, school should be a safe place where they are free to be creative and focus on learning.
These first graders are smart, enthusiastic and love to create with their hands.
These students deserve the very best that the education world has to offer. In our classroom, we care and encourage one another to be our best.
My Project
Technology is in just about every aspect of our lives. It is critical to integrate technology in the classroom to allow our students to get familiar with the tools and help open new doors for learning. iPads are engaging for young learners, they can be personalized for each student and used with collaborate groups.
iPads are the perfect tool for young learners to manipulate the computers with their small hands.
Students can use the iPads daily to write stories, read and listen to books, create digital stories, direct and edit videos, take photos, play math games and so much more! These tools would help excite even the most reluctant learners. Our classroom would benefit greatly from this technology.
