My students need an ipad and case to continue their love of learning and technology. We also need classroom supplies that are usually bought out of pocket, such as workbooks, pencils, timers, prizes, erasers, and markers.

My students come from diverse backgrounds.
We celebrate the many languages spoken in our diverse school. We are an urban Title 1 school in Connecticut. Many of our students come from single family homes. As a school, we are striving to create a culture of using technology in our everyday lives. This new iPad will helps students not only learn, but get them ready for the technology that is used in an everyday work place.
My Project
My students will use the iPad to enrich their learning. We plan to use it to project images and work onto the Smart Board. Some of these items are basic classroom materials (such as pencils, erasers, dry erase markers, timers) that usually come out of my pocket or that students go without. I will use the prizes as incentives to help unmotivated students.
My students are so excited at the thought of a new iPad.
They will engage and use it play with at recess, learn mathematics and language arts from the apps I've purchased. We will also use the pencils, erasers and teaching materials (Common Core Workbooks) to master the content of Second Grade. Not only will this reach my 23 students that I have this year but it will increase learning for many years to come.
