Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a Title I elementary school, we serve free breakfast and lunch. A majority of the students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and a very diverse cultures. Our students are risk takers, thinkers, open-minded, and inquirers. These students love coming to school because they feel safe, nurtured, encouraged and pushed to excel to their highest potential. This project hopes to build focus and stamina as they work independently and efficiently on the ipads in their individual goals. The students needs the iPads to use as a support of the core lessons they learned in class or as a spiral review.
My Project
According to U.S Dept.of Education, Technology ushers in fundamental structural changes that can be integral to achieving significant improvements in productivity. Used to support both teaching and learning, technology infuses classrooms with digital learning tools, such as computers and hand held devices; expands course offerings, experiences, and learning materials; supports learning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; builds 21st century skills; increases student engagement and motivation; and accelerates learning.
This project hopes to support our enthusiastic and persevering students to succeed in reaching their individual goals in Reading, Writing, Math and Science as they use our districts computer program like Imagine Learning, Think Through Math, Study Island, Achieve 3000, Coding and a lot more.
Students will be using this during study hall, tutorials, extended days and work stations to aid learning and master core standards. As students use these ipads at least an hour a day, they learn to manage their time wisely, master grade level core content in all subjects, cyber safety and independence.
