My students need an iPad and case for hands on learning.

"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." -Ignacio Estrada
"You are smart, you are kind, and you are loved!" This is something I tell my students every day.
I also tell them how proud of them I am. My students want my approval and love, so I make sure they know each and every day how proud of them I am.
Our school is a critical needs area where many of the children are left to raise themselves and their siblings. They come to school seeking knowledge, acceptance, and most of all love. Our school is like a large family, most of us grew up here and even went to the school at the school we are teaching at. Many of the students in our school are at or below the poverty level, most of them receive free or reduced price lunch and breakfast. Our school serves grades Pre-K through the 4th grade. As a school, we try our best to make sure every child receives the best education possible while they are here. It is very rewarding to teach where children are passionate about education.
This iPad will help my students by using touchscreen functions (which is easier for them than using a mouse), they will be able to use this tablet in small groups for reading and accessing learning apps like sight words, Accelerated Reader, and our online reading series through Pearson Success Net and Scholastic. My goal is to eventually get a set of 5 for small group for us to use during small group time.
This iPad and protective case will be extremely beneficial to my students because it offers hands-on learning through technology; As we know we are in an age where everything involves technology, the classroom is no different.
My students love and enjoy learning through technology, but we live in a rural school district that struggles with being able to fund the technology we need in our classrooms.
This will especially help my special needs students as well as those struggling with sight word recognition because they will be able learn words through the sight word apps and this will make reading and learning engaging, and more fun for them, as it will for all of my students.
