My Students
In addition to being a Technology Magnet Elementary School, we are in the early stages of seeking STEM certification. Careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics are rapidly becoming the jobs of the future. As the STEM lab teacher, it is my duty and responsibility to provide real world experiences for my students.
We are a Title I school where every student receives free lunch.
I have seen first-hand what happens when students have not been exposed to people and places outside of their communities. These students tend to miss out on valuable opportunities that could enhance how they interact with the world around them.
My Project
My gifted students have many opportunities to learn in whole group, small group, and independent settings. These iPads would help keep my students engaged and interactive while working on their own, with partners, and in a whole group. We will be able to record our class presentations, experiments that we conduct and take pictures of before and after results of STEM tasks.
We would be able to house these iPads in our classroom to ensure each and every kid has an opportunity to interact with many of the educational apps that have been created and are out there ready to explore.
The use of technology is one of the best ways to keep kids engaged and learning. They are able to use these devices in so many interactive ways within the classroom. We can use also use them with our SmartBoards to create an interactive lesson that many kids can be involved in at one time.
