My students need an iPad Air 2 to use our required educational apps that are used in a small group. We need more headphones to use on this device and in our listening center.
My students are always on the go! They love hands-on learning and learning how things work. The children love to build things and are constantly looking for materials to create with. We have in the moment learning when the students create things from blocks and we can discuss and compare their structures. Many of the students learn from their group members as they build and talk about their creations. They love technology and viewing videos about everything! Our school serves students with disabilities, gifted learners and students from military families. Most get their start to education in Pre-K and I want to make sure they get the best start possible!
My Project
An iPad to the rescue! We desperately need one extra iPad to help all the students in small group work on their learning apps at the same time. We currently do not have enough devices to allow all 5 children to use the required reading and math apps that are provided to us by our district at the same time. If we could have just one more device, the small group would be able to do the same task (at different levels) at the same time. Students that have to wait their turn are often bored with different activities and can sometimes cause a distraction to other small groups. This device would ease the frustration of both the students and myself as we can regulate the learning experience more efficiently. I will also utilize this device in a small group to show videos or present different images for learning. We will use the headphones to help students hear what they are learning without distracting other children around them. In addition, the headphones will also help us in our listening center for audio stories and music!
